The SeaFrance Molière at the port of Calais on August 6, 2008
|
The Molière, the new ferry of the French company SeaFrance, passed through the piers of the Port of Calais on Wednesday August 6, 2008 at 11:00.
The SeaFrance Molière left Dunkirk the day before to break in its engines; it is first ferry measuring over 200 m to sail the English Channel.
The commissioning of the SeaFrance Molière, which has a capacity of 1200 passengers, 110 trucks or 480 cars, will take place in two phases. First, the ship will carry out three freight trips per day, then, once its operating schedule has been fine tuned, it will make five daily trips as a ferry.
With the arrival of the SeaFrance Molière, the SeaFrance fleet now comprises three large ferries and two freighters.
