The Port of Calais has completed following work :
- Coating of platform of the Ro-Ro quayage of the East Port with a tepid bituminous mix,
- 20% reduction in energy consumption during manufacturing (compared to traditional bituminous mixes).
- Freight Zone redeveloped to improve the fluidity of road traffic.
- Construction of a multi-mode rail branch at the East Port Ro-Ro quayages. Objectives:
- Reduce transport by truck of shipments of new cars,
- Increase pre- and post- routing by rail of unitised freight from the port,
- Reduce fuel consumption,
- Reduce greenhouse gas and CO2 emissions.
